• Payment information is processed by Stripe (we do not store credit card numbers)

Where Your Data is Stored:

• Firebase Cloud Firestore (database) - Multi-region (US)
• Firebase Cloud Storage (images) - Multi-region (US)
• Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest

Security Measures:

• User data is isolated - you can only access your own data
• Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms
• Firebase security rules prevent unauthorized access
• Regular security audits and updates
• Two-factor authentication available via Google Sign-In

While we implement strong security measures, no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

5. AI Training and Data Usage

We may use your data to improve our AI models under the following conditions:

• Anonymization: All personal information (account email, names, etc.) is removed
• Aggregation: Data is combined with data from other users
• No Public Sharing: Individual photos are never published or used in marketing without explicit consent
• Purpose: Used solely to improve valuation accuracy and item identification

You can opt out of AI training by contacting support@assetworthiq.com. Opting out does not affect the Service's core functionality.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

• Active Accounts: Data is retained while your account is active
• After Deletion: Data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion
• Backups: Backup copies may persist for up to 30 days for disaster recovery
• Legal Holds: Data may be retained longer if required by law or legal process
• Anonymized Data: May be retained indefinitely for analytics and AI improvement

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: Request a copy of your data in JSON format
• Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information via the app
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Export: Download your data (CSV or JSON) at any time via the app
• Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails or opt out of AI training
• Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format

8. International Data Transfers

AssetWorthIQ is operated from Canada. Your data may be transferred to and stored in the United States (via Firebase) or other countries where our service providers operate.

By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your data to countries outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws.

9. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

• Essential Cookies: Required for authentication and core functionality (cannot be disabled)
• Analytics Cookies: Google Analytics 4 to understand usage patterns (can be disabled via browser settings)

We do NOT use advertising or tracking cookies for third-party marketing.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may limit Service functionality.

10. Children's Privacy

AssetWorthIQ is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@assetworthiq.com, and we will delete the information.
